Product Overview
Our SB.14 HGV (Low Flap) Flow Plate, designed in response to popular demand, is the ideal solution for one-way traffic control. Perfect for car park entrances, exits, and areas that need controlled traffic flow, it prevents drivers from using roads as cut-throughs.
The Surface Mounted Flow Plate (Patent Nos. 22385658, 22705338) offers a durable alternative to sunken designs. Strong enough for heavy goods vehicles, it features a 115mm reduced flap, providing flexibility for all vehicle types to pass safely. This surface-mounted design eliminates the need for ground penetration, allowing quick, secure installation by bolting directly to the surface.
Unlike sunken flow plates, the SB.14 HGV Low Flap can be installed on upper levels of multi-story car parks with minimal risk to damp membranes. Additionally, these plates are suitable for sloped entrances and exits (please refer to our recommendations).
Manufactured for over 25 years, our design is the first and original in the industry. We prioritize quality, with each SB.14 plate tested to withstand over a million uses and backed by a 24-month guarantee.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the SB.14 Flow Plates suitable for sports cars?
Yes, our SB.14 HGV Low Flap plates are compatible with sports cars. However, we recommend pairing them with the SB.22 75mm Speed Ramp to ensure vehicles approach at the proper speed. These plates are intended for traffic direction control, not speed reduction; high speeds may cause damage.
Can I lock the plates down for emergency vehicles?
Yes, an SB.14 Locking Bar is available to temporarily secure the plates, allowing two-way traffic access for emergency vehicles. This measure should be temporary and not used as a permanent solution.
How many plates do I need?
Please refer to our SB.14 information sheet below for guidance.
